How To Kill And Exterminate Silverfish Bug

There are many out there who are not familiar with the silverfish bug. They look just like what their name says, little silver fish with legs, like what you may see on a centipede, and they have large antennas. Trust me, they are not cute looking. They tend to be about 2 1/2 inches in length. Silver is not the only colour they may be as they can be red, black, or even brown. Let us admit it-no one likes bugs of any kind, no cockroaches, ants, spiders, or silverfish. Before we get to how to exterminate them, let us learn more about the silverfish.

Silverfish bugs tend to live in a humid area or where there may be a water leak.

They can be under your sink, in basements, attics, and even in your closet. They love the darkness, and that is when you may notice the silverfish moving around. They feast on wallpaper glue, books, papers, linens/fabrics, and starchy foods like cereals. The last thing that you want to do is share your morning bowl of cereal and milk with a silverfish. They lay eggs any time of the year and tend to lay about three at a time.

Just squashing the bugs, particularly if you have an infestation and you don’t even know it, won’t make them go away. It won’t get rid of them just by spraying the silverfish virus, so what will it take to contain the silverfish? In order to exterminate silverfish, you would need to employ San Antonio pest control. If you don’t manage the silverfish, then a lot of damage can be done, which means a lot of money.

How to Eliminate the Silverfish Bug

When pest control comes out to eliminate the silverfish, not only do they need to spray in the inside of your residence but on the outside and perhaps under your house. You will need to locate the water leakage should you have one and have it fixed. If there is any humidity, such as down in the basement, then that will need to be taken care of before you will be able to eliminate the silverfish bug.

There are several different types of ways that you can “do it yourself” ways to eliminate silverfish bugs with small baits that can be placed in areas such as in the closet, under the sink, behind the refrigerator. You can also purchase a cloud of dust that is not harmful to children or pets, and there is a spray that is perfect for spraying in cracks and crevices to find where the silverfish bug may be hiding.
