So as of late I’ve been concentrating on a lot of new online media.
On my search for new online media, I stumbled across ustream.tv.
For quite some time now, as many of you all know, Tech Wired Australia has used Ustream (and still does) as it’s main platform for streaming it’s podcast’s live.
Ustream allows us (for FREE) to interact with listeners very effectively, which brings a whole new concept to broadcast.
So you have to check it out @ ustream.tv, remember the .tv otherwise you’ll get redirected to some domain squatters site.
One of my most favorite Ustream ‘channels’ so far would have to be Zane Savage Live which you can find @ http://www.zanesavage.com/livestream.htm
Zane talks about all things, and I mean all, but the best thing? He gives stuff away! and for this, I tipped him 5 bucks.
Next up in The Rhett & Link Cast @ http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-rhettandlinkast-live they do a live show in their basement on Thursday evenings of which never has a dull moment.
In regards to letting people know when you’re streaming, Ustream has you covered, with one of their latest feature improvements, scheduling.
You can now set a schedule, of which people can follow, and when your show is scheduled to come online, the people who followed you will be notified, just like television, but with a notification.
Overall live video is going to be one of the future platforms of online media, well.. for at least… the next year or so, we’ll have to wait and see what web 3.0 brings us yet
