Queensland’s Premier, Anna Bligh, has been getting a little defensive on Twitter announcing this evening that the Greens are…
“…not an alternate govt.”

This was in response to a Twitter message I Tweeted to Kevin Rudd just moments before, in response to his meeting with Anna Bligh today.
Kevin Rudd said the following on his Twitter account:
“@anna4queensland was great today. Such a strong woman. She stands for jobs.”
So I decided to get a bit cheeky by asking Kevin in the public domain the following:
“@KevinRuddPM What about the Greens what are they? Are they “that other bloke” as well?”
To which I received the response from Anna Bligh stating:
You won’t be able to see the message on Anna Bligh’s Twitter profile page any more, because Anna Bligh deleted it!
But say you wanted evidence that this did indeed happen?
Well, Twitter offers a service that allows you to see Tweets regardless of whether they have been deleted, it’s called Twitter search. If you wish to see Anna’s reply head over to this link.
Below is an overview of how the conversation went:

Some months ago, unfortunately Twitter stopped the delivery of SMS messages to international numbers that were outside of the US and Canada. Since then, there have been several startups that offer the delivery of your Twitter message, but sadly not for free. Twe2 however, helps you fill your twitter-less void, and for free.
It’s worth keeping an eye on what US President Barack Obama is doing with his social media now that he’s taken office. While there’s been a lot of talk about whether he can keep his blackberry and how his team will cope with an all-windows environment, ultimately that’s just a surface issue. Social media works on Windows too, and the US president will likely have more important things to worry about than his Twitter addiction. It’s likely that he’ll be able to reach a compromise on the blackberry – the two main concerns are unvetted comments going out live and the issue of Presidential records – neither of which are insurmountable odds. I want to preface this article by saying that I still love Twitter. After some initial scepticism and a rocky start, I’m now a fully fledged Tweeter (Twitterer? Twit?), managing two separate accounts and loving every letter of it.
So when I say I’ve come across something that I think is better than Twitter.com, I don’t want you to think that I’ve given up on everyone’s favourite little blue bird. I’ve just found another site that I prefer to the original. Read more
RED ALERT, RED ALERT, RED ALERT
WITH so many Twitter ranking systems out there (and new ones appearing everyday) It didn’t take long for users of the service to get ‘loose’ and careless with their credentials ahead of their egos.

I saw an influx of tweets from those who put their details in to the site Twitter Rank of which many are calling a scam. Read more

ANOTHER BTUB geek meet complete with another one in sight, Halloween BTUB was interesting to say the least.
@Alegrya was up from Sydney, so us Brisbane folk took the chance to celebrate with a Brisbane Twitter Underground Brigade.
OPPOSITION leader Malcolm Turnbull posted on Twitter this evening saying that he would post something soon about the Government’s clean feed proposal.
“Thanks for all the queries about the Government’s clean feed Internet proposal. Will post something on this soon.” – Malcom Turnbull
This will be very interesting as I only recently found out (shame on me) that Turnbull was actually a part of the chair of a large Australia Internet Service Provider, OzEmail.
Many people on Twitter have been communicating with Malcom, and in turn he has begun to talk back! Read more

EGO boosting aside, Nick Hac @ Shifted Pixels has done up a table of those in Australia of whom are most influential on the micro-blogging platform Twitter.
“As we couldn’t find an equivalent list for twitter – we put together a list of Australia’s most influential Twitterers. This is a draft version for now and im sure we will release a more accurate version soon.”
If you’re on the internet, you’re probably part of a social network, or three. Heck, I could list ten networks I use regularly straight off the top of my head. They’re everywhere, from MySpace, Facebook, Bebo through to last.fm, Flickr and Twitter (just to name a few). They all have an ‘About Me’ or ‘Bio’ section, and a place for an avatar, or profile picture if you want. This is all well and good if you’ve only got a couple to maintain, but if you’ve got more, it can become a confusing mess to keep them all updated, and in sync with each other. Your interests change, you fall in and out of relationships… you get the general idea. Read more
