Customers Worldwide are starting to speak up about slow speeds and reception issues related to their iPhone 3G.
The Australian MacTalk Forum is starting to fill up with forum members complaining about reception issues, with over 400 posts from disgruntled users, with members trying to be of assistance.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Telco Optus are given out “goodwill credits” to unsatisfied customers.
Mr Wells, an Optus customer told the Sydney Morning Herald:
“After an hour of being on hold and extraordinary delays and being passed from left to right” he was able to speak to a team leader, who credited him $49, the cost of one month’s phone payment.
It is not know yet whether the issue is in fact hardware or software related or even an issue at all, with Apple refusing to comment.

Yesterday Telstra announced that they will be carrying the iPhone 3G and releasing it on the same day that other Australian iPhone carriers will, of which is July 11.
The catch? They will be offering data, but of a different sort.
Telstra have decided that they will offer free data through their Telstra wireless hotspots.
That’s right, they’re only going to offer data, at this point, through their wireless hotspots.
For those who do not know Telstra very well, Telstra have planted over 1,000 hotspots around Australia’s city areas inside Mc Donald’s, Gloria Jeans and Starbucks and various other locations.
Telstra usually charge for access to this service, but have decided that they will open it up for the iPhone.
After reading through Telstra’s media release and finding no information on wireless data, I called up 1800iphone, Telstra’s quickly snapped up hotline.
After getting through quiet promptly I was read back the same information on their media release with lots of um’s and uh’s from the call center representative regarding any other sort of data included.
From a 2 minute conversation I managed to get from the representative that the iPhone on their network will not include any data pack at this point.
So with Canada already whining about how useless their plans are I think it’s time for us to do the same.
The iPhone is a revolutionary device, and without wireless data via cell phone towers, it is not.
