As the creative behind this concept can I just say.... LIGHTEN UP!

My driving ideology behind doing something a little... "out there"... is simple: why should the digital world, and its brands, be so god-damned boring?! I attend CeBit every year - before marketing for the actual industry - and I've always thought, "What's the digital world's problem with creative branding?!" It all looks the same. But I've always known the digital crowd have a great sense of humour... so why not appeal to it?

We selected the girls very deliberately looking for intelligent women who were far, far from the kind of promo model that, quite frankly, is all over CeBit (there are plenty of other stands using models that look like they've just walked out of a Gold Coast nightclub at 3 in the morning). Ours gets noticed, not because of their sexuality, but because of their concept. I should also point out that the nurse picture on the home page of this website is NOT from our stand (no lacy red bras on our nurses, thanks!).

My personal view is that it was fine.

Ben

Nice story... your quite the journo :P

In the defense of NetRegistry... what they were doing was all in good jest and was seen by the cebit attendees as a sign of a company who is fun and knows how to be humorous whilst delivering real business value.

My full credit goes to them for turning what CeBIT can be, a boring tech event, into something that was exciting and interesting.

NetRegistry, you have my full support and as a loyal customer this has raised your brand profile in my eyes.

Cheers

Give the poor guys a break - no nudity - just a couple of good looking guys and girls in doctors and nurses uniforms at a trade show.

FACTS - Entertainment and technology are converging - get with the program!

C'mon Net Registry, you should have used sexy female Doctors in garter belts. Pfft.

If this turned a female off ICT it's a shame, but I highly doubt it did or would. People passionate about an industry, whether in it or entering, don't let the actions of one company or even a few determine their future. They move beyond it and instigate change.
