I always knew Melbourne would get all the first upgrades, while Melbourne has internet speeds of up to 100mbps, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane will still have 30mbps for their metro areas and 17mbps for their country areas, but in Victoria, the full network from City, to suburban, metro and even all country area will have internet speeds of 100mbps,
There are plans to upgrade Victorias full network to 100mbps, and about 1-2 years later, they'll upgrade Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth from 17mbps to 30mbps, while they said that Sydney may not even receive an upgrade, Sydney city and the metro areas will stay with 30 mbps and NSW country areas will stay with 17mbps.
Telstra is also based in Melbourne and with more customer's here so that might be why also! and I think it's because Melbourne is the IT capital of Australia!
