SEO Battle #2: “Stephen Conroy”

THE GUYS at Happener observed a Google SEO battle occurring not too long ago between @Gregory_Brine and @likeomg. It was all about making a certain keyword that didn’t exist get to number #1 on Google. Happner decided to turn it into a competition, setting a date and time, and offering a prize. The word was Velociroflcoptersaurus.
It went very successful, with Nick Holmes à Court taking home the prize of a bottle of Champagne from Happener, and a working Retro MAC Powerbook 520 from Amnesia.

So this time, it’s time for a twist. It’s time to optimise an existing phrase; “Stephen Conroy”.
The rules:
1. No defamation
2. I think that’s about it?
We’ll go with the same rules as last time, with the winner being the person that scores the most points.
Points will be awarded according to the results from a Google search for the word “Stephen Conroy” to be performed at 10.30am (freaky) Friday the 13th of February 2009 (Sydney time).
100 points for Google Rank 1
90 points for Google Rank 2
80 points for Google Rank 3
70 points for Google Rank 4
60 points for Google Rank 5
50 points for Google Rank 6
40 points for Google Rank 7
30 points for Google Rank 8
20 points for Google Rank 9
10 points for Google Rank 10
The winner will be the person that scores the most points.
As for prizes, I’m sure Tech Wired can chuck in something, how about $50 to begin with?
Any others want to get in on a 2nd and third prize?
Get optimising!

awesome, ben…one question though:
i’m not sure how this is going to work, though. the beauty of velociroflcoptersaurus was that it never existed before we started. stephen conroy, though…we’re looking at almost 600K google results to start.
i can has clarifications?

@heather
That’s the beauty of this one
It should be interesting to see if it is possible to ‘get through all the crap’ within a month.

Should be interesting
Could I please make a suggestion?
If there are enough players, could it be split this time into Professional & Amateur sections for prizes or possibly handicap the professionals to give the hobbyists a better chance of winning?
What an exceptional idea Ben. This way, hopefully some of the negative publicity about me on the Google Top 10 will vanish! It’s lucky the only rule is that there is no defamation, because there certainly isn’t any over at my personal web sites, http://www.stephenconroy.org, http://www.stephenconroy.info, and http://stephenconroy.epicwinrar.com.
I do believe the competition for the stephen conroy SEO challenge has begun.
