The Gap Is Closing – How Many Twitter Friends Do You Know In Real Life?

LAST night I was thinking out loud about how many Twitter friends I actually know from a real life interaction.
So what did I do?
I went through the list of 470 people I follow and calculated that I’ve interacted with 99 of them in real life, just over 21% of them.
So to you I ask, how many Twitterers do you know from a real life interaction excluding organisations unless they represent someone you’ve met.
I tweeted out about this late last night and received the following responses:

I tweeted about this again the next day and got the following responses:

You can follow me here

absolutely none.
208 out of the 345 I’m following, more in the following me list.
I’ve met 10 out of the 46 people I follow.
Met 54 out of out of 148 people I follow
Haven’t met all that many to be honest.. there are only a few on their that I have worked with… to be honest though i don’t follow that many people, generally industry groups, websites or products that im interested in…
I would know 200 of my 700 odd followers… keen to meet them all!
@tdm911 and to be honest, maybe 5 at most! Twitter seems to be rather irrelevant amongst people I know. Too busy still playing on Facebook……
Just one. I don’t know what that says, if anything?
Hmm, I’d say about 4 of 30.
But I also have quite a few people I consider true online ‘friends’ that i’ve yet to meet.. be it just because I’m too lazy or don’t have the time/money to get to them.
