Internode expands coverage, tops satisfaction poll

ADELAIDE-based communications company Internode has signed an agreement with Telstra Wholesale that will allow itsĀ customers to access Telstra’s ADSL2+ network which comprises of over 1,400 enabled exchanges.
Internode currently provides standard ADSL services through the Telstra network, a range of slightly stunted ADSL2+ services through Optus’ 350 enabled exchanges, and also has 110 enabled exchanges of its own, which allow customers to use Annex M technology to access upload speeds of up to 2.5mbit per second.
Internode Managing Director Simon Hackett also announced that customers will be able to take advantage of fixed line telephone services through Internode and be billed for all of their communications services on one bill. “We hope customers who only have access to Telstra ADSL2+ ports will appreciate the option to move up to an Internode-provided ADSL2+ service at last, we look forward to offering all our customers the option of a single Internode bill for their line rental, their phone calls and their broadband services from April 2009″ he said.
The product range on offer won’t be announced till next month, and there’s no indication at this point whether or not customers will receive some form of discount for bundling their services or just the added convenience factor. Internode has discretion on which network the client is placed on if there’s multiple service options for the plan the customer selects, such as their standard ADSL plans when the exchange is enabled by by both Internode and Telstra.
Internode has also just topped the Roy Morgan poll about ISP customer satisfaction with over 83 percent of customers saying their expectation were “exceeded or mostly met” compared to an industry average of 66.3%, and also recorded the largest increase in satisfaction, up from 74.4% last year.
