A New Aussie Startup – MyGuestList

MyGuestList is a new online service aimed at nightclubs, bars, restaurants and promoters to manage and promote their venues. It automates guest list management and makes it easy for venue owners and patrons to organise everything and everyone involved in an event.
There are four sections; Guestlists, Statistics, Database and Marketing, with services that include email and SMS campaigns for events, viewing, editing and printing of current and past guest lists, in-depth guest statistics, growing your database of contacts, and keeping informed about who your guests are, and how many are coming to your event.
MyGuestList aims to save time and money for those in the hospitality and entertainment industries by removing the hassle and time-suck of having to re-enter and copy-paste information from other documents and notes. Patrons can create their own guest lists online where they can then be managed, searched, modified, and have notes and comments added, all in one centralised location.
The statistics also have major benefits for everyone by allowing venue staff to better understand their guests and promote and cater to them accordingly.
Damian Janeski and Andy Marcus are the guys behind MyGuestList. The duo met through university, with their previous experience in the ITC industry (working for Agilent Technologies and Thales Air Traffic Management), Computer Science and Software Engineering degrees, and various venue management roles, all working together in allowing them to come up with the idea for MyGuestList and make it happen.
The startup is brand new, currently in its first round of angel funding, and with a lot of interest surrounding them, including several investors. The team aims to keep things casual, fun, and non-corporate, which is always a good thing. Future plans to implement new features into the service are aplenty. An iPhone app is in the works, and a Facebook app has just gone live.
“At the moment, it’s very specifically designed for the Australian market,” Janeski says. “We have had some interest from the UK, Canada and US, and would possibly look at servicing those scenes at some point in the future. But at the moment, it’s all about user base and content for us.”
With so many Australian startups heading to Silicon Valley where the grass is usually greener, it’s refreshing to hear that MyGuestList will be very Aussie orientated for the moment.
MyGuestList looks to be a fantastic online service with a real purpose, and a passionate and dedicated Aussie team behind it. Interested parties can check it out on the MyGuestList website.
