Dodo Really Are Dodo’s
INTERNET Service Provider Dodo got a slap on the wrist last week with a $147,400 fine from ACMA.
For what reason you might ask?
Dodo thought they would get sneaky and get an overseas call centre to make calls on their behalf.
Since the implementation of the Do Not Call Register in May 2007, ACMA has been investigating consumer complaints about Dodo for contravening the Do Not Call Register Act 2006.
Dodo paid the fine straight away without taking the issue to the courts.
ACMA have reiterated
‘If you are in business and hire offshore call centres to make telemarketing calls, you need to be extremely diligent in overseeing what they do,’ said Mr Chapman. ‘You can’t hide behind offshore call centres, because ultimately the calls they make are your responsibility.’

i hate dodo nuff said
I clock up more money ringing to complain about dodo than I use in monthly internet fees.I have only been with dodo for 2 months but now know it was the worst decision I have ever made when it comes to internet suppliers. But its like getting out of a locked bank vault. Can anyone tell me is it really legal to charge someone for ringing and getting an engaged signal or no one even answering??? dodo’s complaints are as slow as their internet speed I really wish they were extinct.
