Western Digital Hard Drives = Big Fail
![]()
AS I migrate further East from Western Digital, my life has become far less stressful.
You probably would not believe me if I said that I have had 3 Western Digital hard drives fail on me personally, with a colleague’s PVR (Personal Video Recorder) failing as well as their Personal Computer’s secondary drive and one of my work place’s Raptor Drive’s crashing.
It is all true, and it is not until now that I thought I should warn you all of the great wild Western Digital.
With a quick search of the Google, it is quiet evident others have had the same thing happen, which is likely, seeing as though all hard drive will indefinitely fail on you.
With the price of HDD’s (Hard Disk Drives) dramatically dropping in price, it makes you wonder if the manufacturers are leaving anything out, or where they are cutting costs.
Material may become cheaper, but for example with hard drives getting smaller, and data capacity getting larger, where are all the ‘bits’ going?
Anyway, for now I personally have switched to Seagate and the local computer store of which I get great prices on gear from has also turned to them as well as many ‘geeks’ I know.
Fear of Data loss is something consumers should indeed fear, but are often not aware of until it happens to a friend or even them self.
So today I announce, backup your hard drive, it’s for the best whether it be Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital, IBM or whatever, just do it.
