Is There Such Thing as Too Contactable?
WITH the effortless tool of the Internet, are we now becoming too contactable? This is what sparked a conversation I had with Cam Reilly @ the last Brisbane Twitter Underground Brigade.
You can either take the “black and white” approach on this one, or hear me out, but I do not think there is such thing as being “too contactable”.
i believe, if someone wants to get in contact with you, they generally will, in one way or another, hunt you down.
I am with Cam on one theory, that email is old, but trying to keep up with all the current social networks, and using the method suggested, to get in contact with him using Direct Messaging through Twitter (well at a Tweetup, understandable) but for others, what do they use?
Cam uses an auto responder, and has auto sorting enabled on his email for priority tasks, of which I do as well.
So I guess he at least informs email recipients of a “no response”, and I guess email sits @ a lower priority than other methods of contact for him.
What are your thoughts, priority wise? Do you see email at a lower priority than phone, mobile… or even telegram?

I think it’s less about the methods of communication and more about how importantly you need to be contacted. If your highly sought after merely being on the planet can make you too contactable
