GeoEye-1 Satellite Launches Into Space
Just over 12 hours ago at 11:50 a.m PDT, A Delta 2 rocket carrying aboard a GeoEye satellite launched at Vanderberg air force base.
“GeoEye, a premier provider of satellite, aerial and geospatial information, announced today the successful launch and deployment of GeoEye-1, the world’s highest resolution, commercial Earth-imaging satellite.”
The satellite has been launched to provide exclusive satellite mapping to Google Inc, of which I’m sure will be implemented in to it’s “Wow factor” Google Earth service.
As soon as mainstream gets a hold of this, I am sure they will go nuts as usual.
